My first attempt at still life. A small, delft windmill I bought on one of my favorite days from high school was the inspiration. It took a lot of setup, and a lot of tries, but I like the result. Let me know what you think. Thank you.

Delft is very Dutch. I had to look at this for a while to figure out that the objects in the middle were wooden shoes. I think you should show more of the shoe where it goes on the foot. Also, I wish they were blue also, and the composition doesn't seem quite right. Maybe vary the position of one of the shoes, placing it vertically, maybe wit the windmill in the "hole" of the shoe? I like that you added the guide. I thought that the shoes were cheese at first. The scale between the shoes and the windmill seems problematic. Maybe place flowers in one of the shoes?
You could make the photo a monochrome blue. I also agree the the Windmill needs more light.
